Airport Code for Cape Verde: Amílcar Cabral International Airport (IATA code: SID) is also known as Sal International Airport. It is the main international airport of Cabo Verde, on Sal Island, in Cape Verde.

Airlines to Sal Island: There are no direct flights from the United States to Sal Island (SID).  Most flights connect through Portugal via TAP Airlines or thru Ghana.  There are many other options if traveling thru Europe.

Pre and Post Trip Recommendations: If you are looking for pre and post trip recommendations, please email concierge@reidrodell.com  We recommend stopping in Ghana or Lisbon, Portugal to break up the potential long flight.

Airline Ticket Support: If you require airline ticket support, please click on the link below (the meeting title is Sandra's 50th Birthday Celebration), and a travel agent will reply with proposed itineraries for you to approve.  The airline ticket support fee is $50 per ticket and includes 24-hour agent support should your flight get canceled or delayed.  One of the travel agents will assist you in ensuring that you get to your destination as quickly as possible due to potential flight delays/cancellations.

Attire for the trip: Cape Verde is very casual.  Upon registering for the event, additional details will be provided that list suggested daily attire.

​

What language(s) are spoken in Cape Verde: The official language of the islands is Portuguese, which is used in most written communication, including newspapers; however Creole tends to be used in conversation and it's this you'll hear being used on a day to day basis.  However, English is widely spoken as well.
